Once they are interpreted they are displayed in the form of a video or image for the physician to see. The physician will use these images for a variety of reasons such as to check on the woman’s pregnancy to make sure that the baby is growing as it should or to see why a patient is having pains in a certain area of their body. The sound waves are transmitted to the patient with the help of a wand that is called a transducer.
